A superb quality and very large 55 cm. tall Ming Dynasty pottery figure dating from 1368-1644 AD. This court Female Attendant is standing on a Yellow glazed lotus flower over a high hexagonal green plinth and wears fine robes in matching green and yellow glazes. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white.Finely detailed facial expressions have been painted. The head is detachable as often seen on the larger figures from this period.
This female figure holds a green box with a yellow ornament on top of the lid at the height of her chest. Very impressive and heavy conversation piece!
