A superb quality and very large 52.5 cm. tall Ming Dynasty pottery figure dating from 1368-1644 AD. This court Male Attendant is standing on a Yellow glazed lotus flower over high hexagonal green plinth and wears fine Daopao Style robes in matching green and yellow glazes. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details. The head is detachable, as often seen on the larger figures from this period.
The male figure holds a large fish on a plate in front of his chest. Very impressive and heavy conversation piece!
