A magnificent courtier from the Ming Dynasty -1368-1644 AD – in excellent condition. At 62.5 cm tall, this dominant figure is wearing a beautiful blue robe in enamel finish and a magnificent red vest. It is standing on a rectangular double plinth in various blue tones. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. The head denotes female features and has the customary adornments of the epoch along with finely detailed facial features. The head is also detachable, as often seen on the larger figures from this period. The figure holds two blue bowls on an engraved tray. Condition: Excellent, finely preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs. Ex. Danish Collection.
