Royal Inca kero, made of pure silver and formed by hammering the sheet metal over a wooden core. Used by Royalty for drinking chicha, this would have been part of a king or noble’s set of household utensils. Silver, though valued less than gold in today’s societies, was highly prized and valued nearly a highly as gold in the ancient Andean Empires. Had several small tears and light crushing which has been professionally restored. Provenance: Ex. Jean-Eugene Lions collection, Geneva, Switzerland.
