A fine circular side dish hand-painted and decorated under the glaze. This dish has a nice peach at the center encircled by six sepals of altering shades of green. Three Chinese characters connect the pomegranate, peaches, flowers, and leaves. This porcelain also has 3 bats on top of each character. Due to the homophony of the Chinese word fu for “bat”, and fu for “prosperity and good fortune” the bat has become a symbol for good luck, often found in red, the color of joy. Unique piece due to a star of David engraved into the dish by a previous owner.
No chips, cracks, crazing, loss of color or paint.
