Monumental Ming Dinasty Court Attendant in Blue Robes – TL Tested
A magnificent male courtier from the Ming Dynasty -1368-1644 AD – in excellent condition. At 82 cm tall, this immense figure is wearing a traditional hanfu shades of blue and black. It is standing on a rectangular black & blue plinth and the unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white with finely expressed facial features. The head is detachable, as often seen on the larger figures from this period. The figure holds a black book at his chest, and a pouch. Condition: Excellent, finely preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs. Ex. Danish Collection.
