Maya Polished Obsidian Cinnabar Pot – Ca. 600-800 AD
Fine, small vessel of cut and polished, jet black volcanic glass. Dome shaped lid, recessed on underside fits over the low raised vessel rim lip. Nearly full with its original cinnabar contents, exc. cond., rare.
Provenance: New Jersey collection, ex. collection of Angelica Abrego, Las Vegas, 1962. By descent to family members in 2004.
