A painted wood panel having an elaborately detailed, relief silver cover with three line Russian inscription contained in an oval cartouche at the bottom and two oval relief plaques at the top of the panel containing initials. Hallmarked and dated in two places on the bottom rim ‘1834″. Both mother and child are wearing relief applied, rayed crowns, some ray points missing, otherwise overall excellent condition.
