Jason Mehl is a Dallas sculptor with a passion for travel and understanding the environment. After finishing a degree in Environmental Science, he traveled around rapidly vanishing wilderness areas of North America. He discovered the intriguing patterns created by dynamic forces in nature, an experience that inspired the way Jason Mehl looks at and creates art. Space and materials are arranged to show tension and change using the language of erosion, decay, and growth. Mehl works with a variety of sizes and materials when it comes to his sculptures, and each piece is a unique creation. Jason Mehl lived in Korea for five years, honing his craft and focusing on art. He returned to Dallas in 2013 and continues to create pieces that reflect the oppositional relationship between man and the world.
